Best Eco-Friendly School Supplies
1. Steel Water Bottle
If you aren’t hydrated at school or university, you wont be able to do much. I love my Eco Tanka drink bottle which I take to university every day. This drink bottle is steel, light and great for day to day.

2. Glass Lunch Box
I love my glass lunch boxes which I got before starting uni this year. They have enough room to fit my meal prep in them and they fit well in my bag as well. Â I would recommend buying 5-6 so you can meal prep for a few days and have it ready to go in the fridge to grab as you leave for the day.

3. Smart Note-Taker
I have heard so many things about Rocketbook. They are a reusable notebook. You write your notes down using a special pen, take a photo through the free app and scan to your university cloud account. Then you can wipe off the notes and start again. This is amazing for reducing paper waste and is ideal for not cluttering your bag or desk with many notebooks.

4. FSC-Certified Paper Notebooks
If you love the feel of real paper look for FSC-Certified paper notebooks. This is where the trees have been grown responsibly according to FSC standards. There are also notebooks made from recycled paper which are also amazing for the environment.

5. Refillable Fountain Pens
Invest in having one or two beautiful refillable fountain pens. These are amazing because it makes writing fun and beautiful (I feel like royalty when using these pens). They also have the added benefit of refilling them with ink which reduces so much plastic waste that normal disposable pens have.

6. Bamboo Pencils
Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on the planet. It is a renewable resource because once it is harvested, the bamboo shoot will regenerate from the root system. So there is no need to replant. Â When you buy bamboo pencils this is supporting better wood production

7. Recycled Fabric Backpacks
There are many different backpacks on the market. The ones best for the environment are the ones which have been made with recycled fabrics which creates another life for this otherwise disposed of textile. This doesn’t mean they can’t be cute though. I would recommend getting a bad to hold your laptop, drink bottle, lunch, gym clothes and other items. This will set you up well to have long days at uni. Have a look at the good trade for a great selection on sustainable bag brands

8. Refurbished Computer or Tablet
Having a computer or tablet is pretty much essential to have in school and university now days. But what can you buy to make it eco-friendly and ethical. I found thegoodshoppinguide.com(GSG) which compares all of the major brands on environmental, animal, people and other ethical considerations. The Five major brands which achieved higher than the benchmark score for Computers and Tablets started with Venture, Honor, Avita, ASUS and MSI which had the highest Ethical Score.

9. Refurbished Phone and Headphones
Like with tablets and laptops, getting refurbished phones and headphones is a great way to save money while using resources which are already here. However, if you are looking to buy a new phone. When I was looking at GSGs ratings for phones the ones which achieved above the benchmark were only two, Nokia and Fairphone which was the highest. Fairphone looks like an amazing brand which is looking towards creating technology with as little impact on the planet as possible. They also have noise cancelling headphones which are a must when sitting in distracting libraries or cafes.
